Finally the day! My mental state has only been declining these last couple weeks. I finally slept and Edward slept till 9 so I finally got some sleep. Once we got moving we went to my best friends Ambre's house. Her husband Dylan took the day off to spend with the kid's and Ambre drove me and made sure I had everything I needed.
Even with it being the day and knowing my brain was going to be reset; my brain was racing. The thoughts kept racing. My amazing nurse Jackie learned a lot about dosing. You can still get the same effect with a lower dose unless you metabolize the Ketamine faster than someone else. We were able to take one of the nausea medications away which helped with the grogginess afterwards. We were able to drop my dosage of the actual Ketamine and I still got the effects I needed.
Once the IV was started and finally everything went silent and calm. Once the infusion is started we turn the lights off and start rain sounds. I eventually slip into a hallucinating state.
I don't know what others experience when they are under. For me I see boxes, a maze, colors. When I wake up after the infusions I am groggy. Can't walk by myself, usually sleep immediately after finally getting something in my stomach.
Once I finally woke up and headed home I hung out with Edward for a little bit and went to sleep. This was the worse I had been in a long time before an infusion. I think I was so tired this time because I had so much extra healing and pathways in my brain.
Ketamine seriously has changed my life. The progress I show after the infusions is night and day. I never did drugs before in my life. Only drink socially. I typically won't recommend drugs or any kid of substance that isn't a pill like anti depressants. But seriously if you are struggling with PTSD, anxiety, depression, post partum, etc. It can help in so many ways.
