I have hoped for this day for a long time but honestly never thought it would happen. I decided last October that I was changing my name back to my maiden name, but I wasn't going to do this until I knew I could change Eddie's last name as well. It took a lot of money and work but on March 21, 2023 at 9 AM the judge signed off on switching Eddie's name. It is hyphenated but he will be going by my last name for school and all other purposes.

There were so many times during this process I almost gave up, even with swapping my name back. Fun fact, if you get a divorce and your divorce decree does not say that you can go back to your maiden name at a later date you have to jump through hoops to get permission to do so..... I was dumb founded but was able to figure it out.

It was so important to me that Eddie have my dad and my name due to us being the ones that are raising him. It finally became true, all the tears and walls we hit were worth the fight. For all those wondering if I get married again or have any other children it will also be my last name hypen the child's fathers name just like Eddie. This was a well thought out process and when Eddie is 18 he can decide what name he wants to go by. It provides him with both parents names so that he can make that decision for himself when the time comes.

When you want something you have to fight for it like your life depends on it, I knew this was what was supposed to happen and no matter what got in my way I dealt with it and made it happen. We got it done before he starts school in August which is why I pushed so hard to get it done before Kindergarten. So, cheers to Eddie finally having a name that fits him and who is in his life. Cheers to me finally getting what I fought for and us finally being able to move on with out life! We did it little man
